Birth Certificate Translation for USCIS
Those applying for permanent residency within the United States must provide a certified USCIS translation of their birth certificate. Certified translation comes with a signed letter provided by a USCIS-certified translation company swearing that a qualified translator has handled the process. Your birth certificate must have this certified letter attached to it in order for your application process to proceed.
We can translate birth certificates to English from Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole. Book a virtual consultation with us today to get a certified translation fast.
USCIS Birth Certificate Requirements
In Section 11.3 of the USCIS policy manual, the agency states that “All documents submitted in support of an application or petition must include complete translation into English. In addition, there must be a certification from the translator indicating that the translation is complete and accurate and attesting to his or her competence as a translator.”
Those that fail to provide a certified birth certificate translation will experience a delay in the immigration application process, if not an out-and-out rejection. Additionally, your birth certificate translation should include:
- The applicant’s full name
- The applicant’s date of birth
- The applicant’s place of birth
- The full names of both of the applicant’s parents
- A seal that verifies that the translation was handled by a certified office
